Peter M. Retzlaff was appointed Deputy Bank Commissioner in August 2026. Peter joined the Office of the State Bank Commissioner in November 1993, and with over 30 years of experience within the agency, Peter previously served as the Chief Bank Examiner. In his current role, he supervises the examination of state-chartered banks, trust companies, and non-bank businesses licensed by the Office of the State Bank Commissioner, as well as all bank and trust company applications. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Delaware and is a graduate of the ABA Stonier Graduate School of Banking and the Wharton Leadership Program at the University of Pennsylvania.
